Here’s how to enable and use now playing on Google Pixel 4a. When turning on now playing on Pixel 4a (5G), it will recognize songs automatically playing near you. To activate now playing, go to sound settings and turn on show songs on the lock screen. When music is playing nearby, you can see the song name and artist info on the status bar. Also, see now playing music history in all Pixel devices (Except the 2016 Pixel & Pixel XL). You can delete all music history or add history shortcuts to the home screen in your device.

Step 1: Pull down the notification panel at the top of the screen and tap “Settings icon”.
Step 2: Touch on “Sound”.
Step 3: Scroll down and touch on “Advanced”.
Step 4: Touch on “Now Playing”.
Step 5: Toggle on “Show songs on lock screen”.
You can see the “song name and artist name” on the lock screen.
Alternative Way: Settings > Display > Advanced > Lock Screen at the end of the page > Now Playing > Toggle on Show songs on lock screen

How to View and Delete Now Playing History on Pixel 4a (5G)
You can see the history of now playing songs using the below settings.
Step 1: Open the “Settings app”.
Step 2: Click on “Sound”.
Step 3: Click on “Advanced”.
Step 4: Click on “Now Playing”.
Step 5: Click on “Now Playing history”.
Now see the recognized songs list. You can individually or remove all history at once.
Step 6: Click on “Three vertical dots” at the upper right screen.
Step 7: Click on “Remove all”.

Step 8: Click on “Remove”.
