How to Hard Reset Huawei P40 Pro

Here’s how to perform a factory reset or hard reset Huawei P40 Pro+ using power and volume up & down buttons. It will reset all your phone settings to factory default settings. Make sure to back up & restore your data before hard reset your Huawei P40 Pro/Mate 40 Pro/P40 Pro+ devices. You need to reset Huawei P40 Pro device if forgot password or pattern lock, software issue, unresponsive touchscreen, black screen, and other issues.

How to Hard Reset Huawei P40 Pro+/P40 Pro/P40/Mate 40 Pro

     

Step 1: Press & hold the power key and click on “Power off”.

Step 2: Click on “Power off”.

Step 3: Click “Power off” again to power off your phone.

Step 4: Long press the power key and volume up key same time until the screen turns on. Release the power key only when seeing the Huawei logo. Release the volume up button after 5 seconds.

You can see Restart, Clear data, Update mode, and safe mode options.

Step 5: Press the volume down key to select the “Clear data”.

Step 6: Press “Power key” to apply.

You can see the factory reset, Wipe cache partition, and back options.

Step 7: Press the Volume up key to select the “Factory reset”.

Step 8: Press the “Power key”.

Step 9: Press the volume up key to select “Factory reset”.

Step 10: Enter “Yes”, then press the Power key once only (Warning: To avoid system error, please do not long-press the power key).

Wait until complete the process.

Step 11: Press volume down key until select the “Back”.

Step 12: Press “Power key” to apply.

Step 13: Press volume up key to select “Restart”.

Step 14: Press Power key to “Reboot” your device.

Now, you can see your phone reset to factory default settings. All data erased from your Huawei device.

How to Factory Reset Huawei P40 Pro/P40 Pro+ Using Phone Settings

If your phone is power on, you can factory reset it using the given settings. Back up your data before apply below given steps.

Step 1: Go to “Phone settings”.

Step 2: Scroll down and click on “System & updates”.

Step 3: Click “Reset”.

Step 4: Click on “Reset phone”.

Step 5: Click the “Reset phone”.

You can backup your data here if you want.

Step 6: Click “Reset”.
