The smart lock feature is used to automatically unlock your phone when you’re nearby, on-body movement like holding or carrying your device, and location you add. Samsung Smart lock includes on-body detection, trusted places, and trusted devices options. If you don’t want to use a smart lock, you can use fingerprint, face recognition, or Pattern/PIN/Password to unlock your Samsung One UI 3.1.

How to Use Smart Lock on Samsung Galaxy A71Step 1: Pull down the notification tray at the top and touch on the “Settings gear (Cog)” icon.

Step 2: Scroll and touch on “Lock screen”.

Make sure to set up a screen lock in your device to use the smart lock feature.

Step 3: Touch on “Smart Lock”.

You can see below given three options.

On-body detection: Keep your device unlocked while it’s on you. Just unlock once and your device is unlocked as long as it’s in motion. Your device will lock when it detects that it’s been set down.

Trusted places: Add the location where the device should be unlocked. Your device will stay unlocked for up to four hours or until you leave one of your trusted places.

Trusted devices: Add a trusted Bluetooth device to keep this device unlocked when it’s nearby like a Bluetooth watch, Car’s Bluetooth, and other Bluetooth accessories.

Step 4: Select from the above-given options.

Step 5: Follow the on-screen instructions to use that feature.

How to Disable Smart Lock on Samsung One UI 3.1

Step 1: Pull down the notification tray at the top and touch on the “Settings gear (Cog)” icon.

Step 2: Scroll and touch on “Lock screen”.

Step 3: Touch on “Screen lock type”.

Step 4: Select “Swipe”.

Step 5: Touch on “Remove data”.

It will remove biometric security from your device.

Step 6: Click on “Remove”.

You can see disable Smart lock (Settings > Lock screen > Smart lock) option in your Samsung device. To enable it again, you need to set up screen lock type in your device.
