How to Set Up Face Recognition on Samsung Galaxy A71
Here’s how to set up and use facial recognition (Face ID) on Samsung Galaxy A71 5G, A51, and A41. Make sure your face is clearly visible during registration. Face recognition is less secure than other screen locks like PIN, Password or Pattern lock. Face recognition might not recognize you if there are major changes to your appearance, like facial hair, sunglasses, wear a mask, etc. Also, use fingerprint biometric security to unlock your Samsung A71.
How to Use Facial Recognition on Galaxy A71 5G
Step 1: Swipe down the notification panel with two fingers and touch on the “Settings gear (Cog)” icon.
Step 2: Scroll and touch on “Biometrics and security”.
Step 3: Touch on “Face recognitions”.
Step 4: Touch on the “Continue” button.
Step 5: Set the “Screen lock” (Pattern, PIN, or Password). We select a PIN.
Step 6: Enter a PIN and touch on Continue.
Step 7: Re-enter the PIN and touch on OK.
Step 8: Choose if you wear glasses and touch on “Continue”.
Step 9: “Position your face in the area” shown on the screen. Wait until fully register your face.
Step 10: Touch on “Done”.

Stay on lock screen: When you unlock with face unlock, stay on the lock screen until you swipe. Turn this off to go directly to the last screen you were using.
Faster recognition: Faster recognition improves speed but reduces security, increasing the possibility of a video or image being incorrectly recognized as you face.
Require open eyes: For added security, only recognize your face when your eyes are open.
Brighten screen: Increase screen brightness temporarily so your face can be recognized in the dark.
