How to Turn On Live Captions in OnePlus 8T

Here’s how to turn on live captions in OnePlus 8T. Live caption detects speech on your device and automatically generates captions. Live captions currently available in the English language only. When you watch videos or movies on your OnePlus, you can see the language on the screen. You can enable or disable hide profanity and show sounds labels. Also, quickly turn on or turn off live captions using the volume button in your OnePlus 8T, 8 Pro, 8, OnePlus 7T Pro, 7T, 7, and OnePlus 6T/6.

How to Turn On Live Captions in OnePlus 8T

Step 1: Pull down the notification tray at the top and click on the “Settings gear (Cog)” icon.

Step 2: Click on “Sounds & vibration”.

Step 3: Click on “Live caption” under the sound effects and modes section.

Step 4: Toggle on “Live Caption”.

Step 5: Now, open the YouTube or other app you want to watch a video or movie, and you can see “Caption speech” in the English language on the screen. Touch and hold the captions to move its screen. Double-tap the captions to expand.

Note: Live Caption for calls isn’t intended for calls with more than 1 other person. Songs aren’t fully supported.

Below given three options are available in your OnePlus.

Hide profanity

Profanity will be replaced with an asterisk symbol.

Show sound labels

It includes sounds like laughter, applause, and music.

Live Caption in volume control

You can enable or disable this option if you want to quickly activate the live caption in OnePlus 8T using the volume button.

How to Change the Caption Settings on OnePlus 8T

Step 1: Go to “Settings”.

Step 2: Scroll and touch on “System”.

Step 3: Touch on “Accessibility”.

Step 4: Touch on “Caption preferences” under the Audio & on-screen text section.

You can see show captions, caption size & style, and language options.

Step 5: Touch on “Caption size and style”.

Step 6: Touch on “Text size” and choose from “Very small/Small/Default/Large/Very large”.

Step 7: Touch on “Caption style” and choose from “Set by app/White on black/Black on white/Yellow on black/Yellow on blue, or Custom”.

How to Turn Off Live Captions on OnePlus 8T

Settings > Sounds & vibration > Live Caption > Toggle off Live Caption
